IFT among tertiary education institutions introducing common entrance exams

中文摘要 / Summary in Chinese

IFT and 3 other institutions of higher education in Macao are jointly introducing common entrance exams in Mathematics and three language subjects: Chinese, English and Portuguese. The exams will be called the Joint Admission Examinations (JAE).

The intention is to save local candidates for places in the 4 institutions the trouble of sitting more than one exam in each subject if they apply to more than one of the institutions.

The 4 institutions are introducing the JAE in this academic year for local candidates for admission in the 2017/18 intake. The candidates are not required to sit the exams in all 4 subjects.

IFT’s partners in the scheme are the University of Macau, the Macao Polytechnic Institute and the Macau University of Science and Technology. The JAE will leave the various admission procedures, requirements and criteria of the 4 institutions unchanged, each retaining its own. That means the IFT Examination Exemption Policy and the IFT Principal Recommendation System will remain in effect.

Separately, IFT is now taking applications from outside Macao for places in its daytime programmes leading to bachelor degrees that start in academic year 2017/18. The period for application ends on 31 May.
