He provided students with a unique opportunity to delve into the creative process behind the association\u2019s acclaimed theatre production \u201cHide and Seek\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session, facilitated by IFTM Lecturer Mr. Kelvin Leong Ka Hou, was designed to give students insight into the inspiration for the play and the concepts behind it. Hiu Kok Drama Association Producer Mr. Ben Ieong and Assistant Director Ms. Vicky Tong also took part in the lecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session was part of the Cultural and Creative Industry course for Year 1 students in the Cultural and Heritage Management Bachelor\u2019s Degree Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Established in Macao in 1975, the Hiu Kok Drama Association is renowned for its avant-garde and thought-provoking productions, exploring a wide range of social and cultural themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Lei, who served as the Director of the School of Theatre under Macao Conservatory from 2010 to 2020, received the Medal of Merit \u2013 Culture from the Macao SAR Government in 2012. His plays have been showcased at the Macao Arts Festival and various other festivals, reaching audiences in cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, and New York, in the United States, as well as the Portuguese cities of Lisbon and Coimbra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lecture at IFTM encompassed an improvisational-theatre demonstration relating to the \u201cHide and Seek\u201d production, followed by an idea-sharing session with Mr. Lei and Ms. Tong. It explored their personal backgrounds and the creative process behind the play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event offered students a platform to pose questions and engage in dialogue with these seasoned theatre professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IFTM Lecturer Mr. Leong emphasised the importance of such guest lectures in providing students with an opportunity to interact with cultural and creative-sector professionals, and so gain valuable insights into that field.
