from UTM excelled in the recent \u201cMCA Chinese Cooking Competition 2024\u201d, with one of them securing first place in the student category<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Owen Ng Hon Man, a student enrolled in UTM\u2019s Culinary Arts Management Bachelor\u2019s Degree Programme, clinched first place in the student category of the recent \u201cMCA Chinese Cooking Competition 2024\u201d. Fellow UTM undergraduate Crystal Chan Si Wai achieved third place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition was organised by the Macau Culinary Association (MCA) and co-organised by the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ). The contest took place on 24 April at the DSEDJ Coloane Training Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of seven students from UTM\u2019s Culinary Arts Management programme participated in the competition. The event was themed \u201cChinese Cooking with Western Ingredients and Fruit Coulis\u201d, with separate categories for food and beverage professionals and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants in the competition were required to prepare a main dish in under 60 minutes using contemporary Chinese cooking techniques.
