She praises the scheme, saying it has helped broaden her academic horizons<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UTM launched in the 2022\/2023 academic year a \u20181+1 Dual Master\u2019s Degree Programme\u2019 in collaboration with The University of Queensland (UQ), one of Australia\u2019s premier higher education institutions. The programme allows eligible postgraduate students from UTM to spend a portion of their studies at UQ, culminating in the award of two master\u2019s degrees, one from each institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Amy Ng Si In, from UTM\u2019s Master of Science in&nbsp;Hospitality and Tourism Management programme, seized the chance to enhance her studies and overall life experience via the dual programme. She says it showcases the benefits of an international education that blends academic rigour with practical experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Ng began her studies at UQ in February this year. The Macao local praises the dual master\u2019s programme between UTM and the Australian university for broadening her academic horizons. \u201cThe support from staff and access to industry connections have been instrumental in preparing me for future career opportunities,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt the beginning of my studies, attending events like the faculty networking night allowed me to connect with fellow students from different majors and cultural backgrounds,\u201d Ms. Ng recalls. \u201cThese interactions have helped me form lasting friendships and professional relationships.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She highlights the programme\u2019s role in advancing her capabilities. \u201cI have developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which are crucial for strategic decision-making\u201d in the tourism and hospitality industry, Ms. Ng says. \u201cThe practical experiences and projects have enhanced my event planning and management abilities, ensuring I can effectively organise and execute successful events.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of her most memorable experiences at UQ has been participating in a research project on sustainable tourism practices. \u201cThis allowed me to delve into the latest industry trends and understand the importance of environmental management in tourism,\u201d Ms. Ng explains. \u201cCollaborating with peers on this project provided valuable insights and practical knowledge that are essential for my future career.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside the classroom, there was also a world to explore, not only at UQ, but also in Brisbane, Queensland\u2019s capital city where the university is located.
