The IFT Educational Restaurant has won the 2018 Award for Euroexcellence in Food and Beverage, from the Macau European Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n

The body said in a release it was recognising the restaurant for \u201cits active promotion of multicultural culinary exchange between Europe and Macao\u201d.<\/p>\n

The award was presented to IFT\u2019s Executive Assistant Manager of Food and Beverage, Mr. David Wong, during the annual gala dinner of the Macau European Chamber of Commerce. The event was held on 18 May at the Grand Lisboa Hotel.<\/p>\n

The Macau European Chamber of Commerce instituted a series of annual awards in 2015, as a way of \u2013 in the language of the body \u2013 encouraging local enterprises and institutions to engage in Sino-Western collaboration, to create new opportunities for international business, and to sustain Macao\u2019s rich history of cross-cultural exchange.<\/p>\n

The IFT Educational Restaurant \u2013 at the Mong-H\u00e1 Campus \u2013 provides an opportunity for students to gain in-depth, practical experience of the restaurant business, while being coached and supervised by experienced instructors. The setup allows students to interact with paying guests in a real-life setting.<\/p>\n

The restaurant\u2019s menu offers a selection of Macanese and Portuguese-style dishes, made with a modern touch. The restaurant supports organic farming and the Slow Food movement. Herbs used in its dishes are grown in a herb garden on the Mong-H\u00e1 Campus.<\/p>\n

From time to time the establishment puts on special events that promote food and cuisine to be found in different parts of the world. It also has seasonal menus.<\/p>\n

The IFT Educational Restaurant is recommended in several international guides. Since 2009 it has been featured annually in the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau. It also holds a \u201cCertificate of Excellence Award\u201d from the popular international travel website TripAdvisor. The Institute\u2019s training unit has been annually since 2012 a recipient of the coveted award for this category.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
