Software Asset Management (SAM) is a process of managing and optimizing the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization and disposal of software applications within UTM. SAM helps to reduce costs, improve security and compliance, and enhance productivity and performance.
This guideline applies to all users that are using University’s computers to process information.
In UTM, IT division deployed SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) on every desktop computer to deploy and manage software. SCCM also provides asset intelligence features that collect and report information about the hardware and software assets. SCCM has following functions:
