Year 4 Culinary Art Management students, Dr. Christy Ng, and Dr. Marta Lam from the Macau Institute for Tourism Studies, were invited by Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited to Studio City for Chef Otto Wong's motivational speech on Janurary 30th, 2024. Chef Otto, Executive Chef of Pearl Dragon, a Michelin one-star and Forbes five-star restaurant, shared his profound views and experiences garnered during a spectacular two-decade career in the Food and Beverage industry. Chef Otto addressed his transforming mentality since entering the field, emphasizing the need for ongoing self-improvement through everyday work and culinary competitions, motivating the students immensely.
Following the sharing session, the students got the opportunity to interact with Chef Otto about his culinary abilities, competition experience, and work-life balance. In answer to the students' inquiries, Chef Otto gave further information and his credo of never giving up an opportunity to learn, which greatly motivated the pupils. This unique sharing event strengthened the students' engagement with industry experts and boosted their confidence in their future employment in the food and beverage business.
