The Faculty of Innovative Hospitality Management recently hosted the deans from premier Swiss hospitality schools who were visiting the region to promote their institutions and giving public lectures.
Dean Patrick Taffin of the Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) and Assistant Dean Jorge Arnanz of the César Ritz Colleges Switzerland (CRCS) were warmly received by Vice-Rector Dr. Connie Loi and met with faculty administration; Dean of the Faculty of Innovative Hospitality Management Dr. Clara Lei, and programme coordinators of the Hotel Management Dr. Jenny Guan, Culinary Arts Management Dr. Christy Ng, and Tourism Event Management Dr. Ubaldino Couto. The meetings were also joined by representatives from Swiss Education Group (SEG), Director of Institutional Partnership Programmes Mr. Hippo Ho and Students Admissions Manager (Macao) Mr. Elvis Chan.
Following a recent visit to Switzerland by the Faculty's three programme coordinators, the meetings in Macao further consolidated the intentions of both sides to enhance the present collaborations to the next level by optimising current programmes and introducing new ones. The meetings also enabled in-depth discussions on expanding students' horizons and enriching their learning through these international opportunities. The Swiss delegation also visited different parts of UTM Mong-Há Campus learning about the state-of-the-art training facilities as well as UTM's commitment to sustainability.
Director of UTM Educational Restaurant Mr. Hans Rasmussen met with the delegation and introduced UTM's sustainability efforts in the food and beverage division whilst Ms. Ivy Un from the UTM Educational Hotel Pousada de Mong-Há gave a guided tour to the Swiss guests. Additionally, Dr. Jorge Arnanz also gave master's degree students a public lecture on 'The Importance of Differential Pricing on Customer Satisfaction'.
The Swiss Education Group (SEG) is a network of hospitality schools in Switzerland: César Ritz Colleges Switzerland, Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland, HIM Business School and Swiss Hotel Management School. UTM and SEG have established partnership to offer dual degrees and certification programmes, as well as various progression agreements at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels for students to enrich students' learning experience.
