The whole Tourism Event year 3 students from the English-language stream of the Tourism Event Management bachelor's degree Program recently hosted a detective gaming event for the students to have an excellent problem-solving experience to exercise their brains through mystery cases.
As a part of their requirements for the “Event Management: Hosting an Event”, supervised by lecturer Ms. Belina Lei. Designing detective games is complex and challenging, and as a great opportunity, this exercised their event planning skills and creativity regarding the concept and gain hands-on experience.
With the rise of detective movies and solving-themed activities in recent years, TEM3 created the event to provide students with an exciting way to exercise their brains through mystery cases and puzzles so that they can enjoy the fun of being a detective. This attracted 40+ students. They enjoyed the mystery case and the story they told at the event.
Before this event, they hosted a side event and a game day for students to relax with the food and drinks they provided. By doing this, the side events raised funds for the success of the main event.
The overall event raised net proceeds of MOP3,206.10. These have been donated to the Macau Child Development Association, with support from two local businesses, Maple D' Erable & 咖喱仔麵食, as part of the sponsorship of the food and beverage session.
This “Event Management: Hosting an Event” has been an excellent opportunity for students to continuously improve their management and teamwork skills, apply their experience, face challenges, communicate to all levels, and handle them professionally in their near future careers.
