"UTM Event Contest 2025" was successfully held

"UTM Event Contest 2025" was successfully held on Friday, 11 April 2025 at the Grand Hall of the Forward Building in UTM Taipa Campus. The UTM Event Contest was organised and hosted by the Faculty of Innovative Hospitality Management – Tourism Event Management and co-organised by the UTM Business Club.

The UTM Event Contest primarily aims to highlight the awareness of events in the different sectors of the economy and cultivate students' creativity in events. It further aims to encourage students to share their ideas in an open and supportive environment. Not only is this in line with the Macao's "1+4" Economic Diversification Strategy, the competition also affirms UTM's efforts in capacity building and strengthening our role as a hub for event education. In the future, the "UTM Event Contest" welcomes other universities even beyond Macao in the region, making this the contest that showcases tomorrow's talents in events as well as an incubation centre for fresh ideas from young people.

This year, the contest calls for proposals for event ideas to be held in Macao and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, with a requirement to incorporate creative elements and commercial viability while considering the feasibility and the significance of the event to Macao. After preselection by the organising committee, 10 teams were invited to pitch their ideas at the UTM Event Contest. A panel of professional judges consisted of UTM alumni and faculty members from the Tourism Event Management programme evaluated the submissions. It is with great pleasure we announce the following winners:
