UTM Supports Wine Events at the 2nd China–Portuguese-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Expo (Macao)

Mr. Oscar Man Cheng Ho, Lecturer at the Faculty of Innovative Hospitality Management, recently represented Macao University of Tourism in supporting a series of events organized by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute as part of the 2nd China–Portuguese-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Expo (Macao). His roles included serving as a judge for the “G100 x 2nd C-PLPEX – Most Promising Portuguese-Speaking Countries Wines and Spirits Award,” keynote speaker for a wine-themed seminar, and host of the masterclass at the “China-Portuguese-speaking Countries New Wines and Spiritual Drinks Showcase”.

Mr. Ho joined professional judges from the Greater Bay Area — including experts from the wine, culinary, education, and media industries — to select the “G100 x 2nd C-PLPEX – Most Promising Portuguese-Speaking Countries Wines and Spirits Award” and presented awards to the winning wine companies during the expo. The event aimed to promote and showcase high-quality wines from Portuguese-speaking countries, identify and recommend wines with market potential and exceptional quality, and provide a platform for wineries, wine merchants, and distributors of Portuguese wines to exhibit their products. It also highlighted the rich and diverse wine culture of Portuguese-speaking countries, enhancing their international reputation and fostering business and market expansion opportunities. Additionally, Mr. Ho delivered a seminar titled "Wine Consumption Behavior of Millennials and Gen Z," offering insights into the purchasing habits, product preferences, and emerging trends among younger wine consumers. He also hosted a masterclass during the “China-Portuguese-speaking Countries New Wines and Spiritual Drinks Showcase”. for industry professionals, where he and several wine experts guided nearly 100 attendees through an in-depth tasting of renowned Portuguese wines.
