Students from the Master of Science in International Events Management (IEM), Chinese medium, recently organised an autumn-themed charity mini concert successfully.
The concert featured performances by university singers and local artists, including Ian Hao I (Norii) and Cheng Man Cheng (Kevin), who delivered both classic renditions and original pieces. The concert included a charity segment that encouraged audience participation through the "Music for Charity" initiative, promoted awareness of charitable causes among young students and infusing the event with warmth and purpose. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Macau Deaf Association.
Organised entirely by the students as part of their coursework and guided by their professor, the students meticulously handled all aspects, from project selection and promotion to on-site setup and budgeting. This experience not only entertained the audience but also refined the students' practical skills in professional event organisation. Dr. Joe Yong Zhou, the supervising professor, highlighted that the initiative aimed to develop the practical skills necessary for future event management professionals and encourage social responsibility.
The Faculty of Innovative Hospitality Management offers events management programmes in English or Chinese as medium of instruction at both Bachelor and Master's levels. The team of specialists continue to strive for teaching and research excellence, aiming to cultivate tomorrow’s graduates who are dedicated, resilient, and responsible to sustainable endeavours.
