Third-year students from the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Event Management turned their coursework into a dazzling, feel-good reality. They did not just learnt theory; they lived it. From concept design and sponsorship negotiations to marketing and on-the-ground execution, every step was theirs to own. They recently successfully hosted a unique campus event, the "Neon 螢 LED Coffee Festival" from scratch. This event not only incorporated coffee culture but also offered a visually LED experience, aiming to create a highly interactive and creative platform that enriches campus life and promotes social responsibility.
As part of their requirements for the "Event Management: Hosting an Event" course, under the mentorship of lecturer Dr Belina Lei. Students participated in the entire process, fully developing their event-planning, teamwork, and project-management skills. This is a multi-day, multi-sensory campus event that drew crowds, applause, and even donations. This is an event with a purpose.
The "Neon 螢" series of events included a coffee-themed side event, an LED-themed finale event in April, and a five-day coffee-themed exhibition in the UTM Library. The activities included coffee and cocktail sales, coffee-themed merchandise sales, music and dance performances, and a coffee cultural exhibition. The exhibition featured a coffee aroma area, a coffee supplies exhibition, a coffee book exhibition, and a guestbook, creating an experiential space that combined art and social interaction. All proceeds from the event were donated to ANIMA Macau.
