On the morning of 28 August 2026, Macao University of Tourism held the welcome and ice‑breaking event for the 2026/2027 Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at the First Phase of Macao‑Hengqin International Education (University) Town. New students and faculty members gathered together in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere to get to know each other, opening a new chapter for their future learning journey. Dr. Zhao Weibing, Dean of the Faculty of Creative Tourism and Intelligent Technologies, along with several programme professors and faculty members, also attended the event and interacted with the students.
The activities were carried out in teams. Students were divided into groups to design team names and slogans and to present their teams, and then participated in a series of fun collaborative games, including the chopstick ping‑pong relay, the hula hoop pass, and the team musical chairs challenge. Through laughter, the students built rapport and moved from strangers to familiar teammates, fully demonstrating team spirit and laying a solid foundation for future classroom collaboration and group projects.
At the end of the event, Dean Zhao officiated the flag‑presentation ceremony for the new MBA students, symbolising the official start of the programme. In his brief address, he warmly welcomed the new students to the UTM family and congratulated them on being the first cohort of the MBA programme, acknowledging the honour and responsibility of being “pioneers”. He expressed gratitude for their trust in the university and pledged that the teaching team would go all out to provide high‑quality courses and resources to ensure their academic success. He encouraged students to make good use of Macao’s international platform to broaden their horizons and networks, while cherishing their classmates and learning from each other both inside and outside the classroom. He wished them all a fruitful journey of knowledge, friendship, and personal growth.
The event concluded with warm applause. The new students expressed that the ice‑breaking activity helped them quickly integrate into the campus atmosphere and filled them with anticipation for the upcoming MBA programme. Macao University of Tourism will continue to offer diverse learning experiences to support the development of future management talents.
