UTM and The University of Queensland join forces to offer【1+1 Dual Master's Programme】



UTM signed an “1+1” dual master's programme cooperation agreement with The University of Queensland (UQ), in offering a dual master's programme. Through the joint programme, eligible students from UTM are given the opportunity to transfer credits and complete UQ Master of Tourism, Hotel and Event Management degree (MTHEM) while simultaneously completing UTM master's degree, in as short as two years.
Students under this dual programme will enjoy the cutting edge academic and teaching excellence in tourism, hotel and event management provided by two leading institutions in Macao (China) and in Brisbane (Australia), both joining forces with an aim to foster global management talents in this exciting tourism industry.
“1+1” is available for UTM master's students enrolled in the following programmes:
- Master of Philosophy in International Hospitality and Tourism Management (specialisation in Tourism Management)
- Master of Philosophy in International Hospitality and Tourism Management (specialisation in Innovative Hospitality Management)
- Master of Philosophy in International Hospitality and Tourism Management (specialisation in Events Management)
- Master of Science in International Tourism Management
- Master of Science in Innovative Hospitality Management
- Master of Science in International Events Management

Eligibility:
To be eligible for applying for the dual master's programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Holding a bachelor's degree relating to MICE, Hospitality, Hotel, or Tourism Management with GPA≥4.5 of the UQ's GPA 7-point scale
- Having no “Fail” grade in any course taken in a related master's degree programme
- Fulfilling UQ's requirement of English proficiency (for non-native English speakers), e.g. IELTS Academic: Overall band score of 6.5 AND a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; or TOEFL iBT (including Paper Edition): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19) - Test scores are considered valid for English Language Proficiency purposes for two years from the date of the test to the date of commencement at the UQ. - Students graduating from a bachelor's degree programme with English being the medium of instruction and assessment can apply for an English language test waiver (subject to the review and approval of UQ).
