The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) and the Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA) are pleased to announce that Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has been named principal sponsor of one of the largest and most respected academic conferences in the field of tourism and hospitality. The 2024 annual conference of the Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA2024) will be held on July 3-5, 2024 at Asia’s most iconic and advanced MICE destination, the Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC) of GEG.
APTA2024 aims to advance tourism and hospitality knowledge and exchange ideas between scholars, industry leaders, and policymakers. Around 300 delegates from different countries and regions are expected, including renowned academics, top executives from global travel and hospitality companies, industry leaders, and senior government officials and policymakers.
Dr. Fanny Vong, Rector of the Macao University of Tourism notes:
“APTA2024 aims to attract the usual enthusiastic participation of tourism scholars and practitioners worldwide, particularly those from the Greater Bay Area. The delegates will engage in intellectual discussions on many topics, including implications of in-depth collaborations between Hengqin and Macao on the diversification of the latter’s economy. Over the years, GEG has collaborated with UTM on various educational and knowledge-transfer initiatives. International delegates of APTA2024 will also be treated to GEG’s renowned and award-winning hospitality, with its Andaz Macau appointed as the designated hotel offering accommodation for the conference.
