Macao University of Tourism (UTM) Faculty of Innovative Hospitality Management Lecturer Mr. Oscar Man Cheng Ho recently visited the Quinta da Marmeleira in Lisbon, Portugal to learn first hand from the winemakers on winemaking techniques and the unique terroir of the Alenquer wine region. Quinta da Marmeleira is a representative enterprise of Macao’s investment in Portugal in response to the Belt and Road initiative and its wines have been gaining recognition in Greater China as well as the global market. Since 2021, Quinta da Marmeleira has been an industry partner of the UTM Wine Appreciation Club (an affiliated organisation of the UTM Student Union) providing practical opportunities for UTM students to act as hosts for wine dinners serving the public. Ms. Carmen Wu, CEO Assistant of Quinta da Marmeleira, commented that UTM students are most welcome to visit the estate and internship opportunities will be offered to them in the future.
