IFT has always strived to seek diversified development and expansion of international networks. Collaboration with many overseas organisations and universities help to ensure that our programmes meet international standards. In 2007, IFT and CNI signed the first Executive Development Programme (EDP) Agreement to co-organise an EDP titled “Strategic Human Resources Management”. Later in February 2008, IFT hosted two public seminars, “Insights Regarding the Macao Consumers” and “Bringing out the Best in People – Managing Human Capital”, at Venetian Macao, in collaboration with CNI. The public seminars probed into the development of Macao’s tourism industry and challenges it has to face. In March the same year, IFT and CNI co-organised a two-day EDP on “Revenue Management”. These programmes have received great support from the industry. Senior executives from over 20 establishments from the hotel, tourism, finance and education sectors participated in the programmes.
The signing of the EDP Agreement reinforced the ties between IFT and CNI. An EDP on “Hotel Strategic Pricing: Leveraging and Marketing Knowledge to Enhance Revenue” will be delivered on 23 & 24 July by Dr. Stowe Shoemaker, Donald Hubbs Distinguished Professor and Associate Dean of Research, University of Houston, C.N. Hilton College. Participants will learn knowledge and techniques to increase revenue by better understanding customers, how they make decisions, and how to incorporate pricing decisions into the overall strategy of the firm. For information about the EDP, please visit the webpage: www.ift.edu.mo/news/edp_pricing/index.html.
By tightening the cooperation with Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management and other well-established and recognized education institutions, IFT expands students’ cultural and academic exchange opportunities, enhances Macao’s tourism and hospitality education and gains international recognition, all for the purpose of grooming future industry leaders for Macao and the region.
