Institute for Tourism Studies and Georgia State University Signed Memorandum of Cooperation

Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) and Georgia State University (GSU), USA signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on 23 November at the Institute for Tourism Studies.  Acting President of the Institute for Tourism Studies, Ms. Florence Ian and President of the Georgia State University, Mr. Mark P. Becker presided over the ceremony.

        Georgia State University, USA is the Southeast’s leading urban research institution. It is on the list of the top 100 public universities for doctoral degrees awarded. More than 250 fields of study are offered through some 52 accredited degree pogrammes at the bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral levels. The university offers educational opportunities by blending the best of theoretical and applied inquiry, scholarly and professional pursuits, and scientific and artistic expression.

        Georgia State University, USA and Institute for Tourism Studies entered into the Memorandum of Cooperation in order to promote international cooperation in education and research. This cooperation opens up future opportunities for academic staff/student exchange and study abroad programmes, joint research programmes and co-organisation of conferences and seminars which suit the interests and demand of local professionals.

        The implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation facilitated the expansion of IFT’s international network and levels of world-wide recognition. Both GSU and IFT look forward to the tremendous cooperative opportunities that lie ahead.
