IFT has been persistent in providing quality education and enhancing the whole person development of students. IFT encourages students to actively participate in various charity activities. Each year, IFT organises blood donation day with the blood transfusion centre.
This year’s blood donation activity was held on 22, 23 & 29 September at the IFT main campus and Taipa campus. The procedures of blood donation were very smooth and most donors took only 20 to 30 minutes to complete. 122 students and staff have donated their blood during the 3-day event.
Among the donors, many students have never donated blood before. Hotel Management Year 1 student Chiu Ip is a first time donor. She said that she was excited yet panic, but with the encouragement of her fellow classmates, she decided to brave her fear and donated her blood. She thought that blood donation is very meaningful and will donate blood again at the blood transfusion centre in the future.
Besides achieving higher academic goals, students are encouraged to contribute to the society by raising funds for charity, volunteering, blood donation and Walk for a Million. These activities help to enhance their recognition of social responsibility and devotion.
