中文摘要 / Summary in Chinese

IFT was one of the co-organisers of the 4th International Conference on Events (ICE2017), held in Orlando, Florida, United States, between 12 and 14 December.

IFT Tourism Research Centre Director Dr. Leonardo Dioko led a 5-strong party of IFT delegates to the conference. The other delegates were Mr. Ubaldino Couto, Dr. Laurie Baker-Malungu, Dr. Choi Suh-Hee and Ms. Sherry Tan. Mr. Couto was a member of the organising committee of the conference.

The ICE2017 was organised by Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida, and co-organised by Bournemouth University, in the United Kingdom, and IFT.

The 3-day conference was attended by 65 people from 13 different countries and regions. They looked at various aspects of modern research in event studies.

On the programme of the conference were 4 keynote speeches, 3 panel discussions and the presentation of 36 papers.

IFT delegates presented results from their latest research while Dr. Dioko sat on a panel that discussed research and Mr. Couto took part in a panel discussion on designing curriculums for students in event programmes.

The first ICE took place in Bournemouth University in 2013; IFT organised the third edition of the event in 2015. ICE will be back in 2 years and the organisers have invited institutions to bid to host the event in 2019.
