Hotel Management Year 2 Students of the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) are organising “Macao Idol Charity Dinner 2009” at the Educational Restaurant on 22 May 2009.
All profits generated will be donated to the Action Oasis of the Chinese Educators Association of Macau, a charity fund that provides education opportunities to the poor children in Mainland China.
The fundraising campaign for the Action Oasis started in 2006. The fund has provided financial assistance to the needy children in desertification regions of Mainland China. It helps to subsidy the schooling and living expenses, and offer practical educational facilities to improve their education conditions.
IFT has always been supportive to the Action Oasis. Besides placing the donation boxes in the campus, IFT also cooperate with the Chinese Educators Association of Macau to organise a large-scale annual fundraising event and this is the third year that the event is held.
Macao Idol Charity Gala Dinner is organised by Hotel Management Year 2 Students of IFT. Students will meticulously prepare the delicious traditional Macanese cuisine for our generous guests, and organiser is proud to have Coca Cola as the sponsor of drinks for the event. At the gala dinner, a singing contest will be held, with the theme of “Macao Idol”, giving IFT students a chance to show their talents to the guests. In the meantime, a wine auction will also take place.
With the support of different industries, the selling of tickets is very desirable and it is the utmost encouragement to the organiser. Aside from enjoying the pleasant meal together with the show, the philanthropists are offering their helping hands to the poor students in Mainland China. Through organising this meaningful fundraising campaign, IFT students can also put what they learned from theories into practice.
