IFT Educational Restaurant is proud to coorganise the “Kulinarya: Philippine New Cuisine” Filipino Food Promotion with Philippine Consulate General in Macao on 11-15 May. Ms. Jessie Sincioco, Chef Patron of Le Soufflé, Manila’s prominent French restaurant, is invited to be guest chef during the promotion.
Filipino cuisines feature a diverse blend of history and culinary cultures: Spanish, Chinese, American, Hindu, Japanese and influences of other South East Asian countries have complemented the Filipino's way of traditional cooking. Due to geographical resource, Filipino cuisine is also famous for its seafood and tropical fruits. Chef Sincioco will bring a variety of exotic appetisers and main courses: Smoked Fish & Potato Salad, Chicken Tinola in Raw Papaya, Heart of Palm in Crepe Pouch, Fresh Vegetable Spring Roll, Prawns in Coconut Milk, Roasted Suckling Pig, etc. A perfect meal cannot end without delicious desserts. Chef Sincioco recommends Mango Crepe, Banana Cue, Cashew Sans Rival and many other sweet sensations.
Along with the Filipino buffet, there are a series of events for the food promotion. On 12 May, IFT will coorganise a public seminar “How to market 7,107 islands? – Challenges & Opportunities for Philippine Tourism” with the Philippine Department of Tourism. Mr. Hoi Kuen Wong, Marketing Representative for Hong Kong and Macau, Department of Tourism of Philippine, will be our guest speaker of the seminar. Chef Sincioco will host a Culinary Workshop on 13 & 14 May at IFT, which local chefs and IFT students will have valuable opportunity to experience the Filipino cooking. Furthermore, Mr. Clifford Aw, demonstrator of Destilleria Limtuaco, will host a bartending demonstration, featuring various cocktails with the famous Filipino Paradise Mango Rum Liqeuer. All are welcomed to participate in these events!
