The experience is very useful to her studies and career development in the future.
At the Macau Pavilion, Cheong Cheng Hang Daniel and Leong Kin Chou Simon, Tourism Business Management Year 3 students, are greeting thousands of visitors each day. They will control the flow of visitors entering the Pavilion and introduce to them information on Macao’s tourism. Both of them agree that it’s their honour to have this opportunity and are ready to apply what they have learnt at IFT to the Shanghai Expo.
Ms. Christiana Ieong Pou Yee, Director of the Office for Preparation of Macao’s Participation in the Shanghai World Expo acknowledged the performance of IFT interns for demonstrating professional hospitality service. The 19 interns will provide service till the end of the Shanghai Expo.
IFT has approximately 270 year 3 students each year who are required to complete a 6-month internship, in which, around 50 of them choose to perform their internship overseas. The internship
arrangement with the Office for Preparation of Macao’s Participation in the Shanghai World Expo is one of the highlight projects of this academic year.
IFT encourages its students to treasure the opportunities of overseas internship. It will not only broaden their horizons but also foster their independence and adaptability. The
World Expo 2010 Shanghai has fulfilled the 100-year dream of our motherland and demonstrates the prosperity of the country. It’s a very good patriotic lesson
for the 19 IFT interns and they will take pride of our nation.
