The IFT Alumni Annual Dinner 2018 was successfully held on 4th May at the Grand Ballroom of Grand Lisboa Hotel, the dinner was strongly supported by all parties. A series of activities like music performance, dancing performance and lucky draw were offered during the event, around 120 IFT alumni attended the dinner and it was a great chance to meet with old friends and recall the old memories. Thank you for your support!
In order to let our students to know more about the entrepreneurial environment in the Greater Bay Area and to help building up students’ confidence and sense of belongings, an Alumni Sharing Session under the theme "Innocation & Entrepreneurship" was successfully held by IFT Alumni Association and Student Union on 20 April. This time, we have the honour to invite two alumni who have been establishing their own business, Ms. Camey Cheong (Managing Director of Gravity Production) and Ms. Subraina Sun (Owner of Tons of Frozen Treats) to share with our students their hardship and experience starting up a business throughout the years. Our thanks go to the continuing support from Ms. Camey Cheong and Ms. Subraina Sun.
In order to update what is happening on the Macau’s fast growing tourism and hospitality industry and to help building up students’ confidence and sense of belongings, an Alumni Sharing Session was successfully held by IFT Student Union on 15 November. This time, we have the honour to invite two alumni who have been working in the retail and F&B industry for a few years, Ms. Daney Qiao and Mr. Gaston Lao to share with our students their hardship and working experience throughout the years. Our thanks go to the continuing support from Ms. Daney Qiao and Mr. Gaston Lao.
The 2017 IFT Alumni Annual Dinner was successfully held on 29th September at the IFT Educational Restaurant. Around 80 IFT alumni returned to school for a night to attend the dinner. The aim of this annual event is to strengthen the ties between the Institute and its alumni. It offers participants a platform for networking and sharing professional experiences. During the dinner, Dr. Fanny Vong, President of IFT, emphasised that the Institute’s success ultimately relies on the professionalism and contributions to the hospitality industry of its alumni. In addition, she thanked the alumni for their support of IFT and had high hopes to the incoming IFT Alumni Association. Mr. Armando Amante, President of IFT Alumni Association, thanked the Institute’s continuous support and briefly introduce their future plans to the alumni. The event also featured a game and a lucky draw.
The Inauguration Ceremony of 4th Institute for Tourism Studies Alumni Association (IFTA) was successfully held on 29th September at the IFT Grand Hall, followed by 2017 IFT Alumni Annual Dinner. During the inauguration ceremony, President of the 4th IFTA Mr. Armando Amante expressed his sincere appreciation to the 3rd IFTA and promised to hold more diversified events for IFT alumni. After that, with the presence and witness of the guests, lecturers and students, the committee members of the 4th IFTA gave their pledge to serve the alumni and the Institute. Dr. Fanny Vong expressed that IFTA is the bridge between alumni and IFT. It is hoped that IFTA will gather excellent alumni to contribute back to the society and had high hopes to the incoming IFT Alumni Association. IFTA has been established for 14 years. IFT management went to Fuzhou and Shanghai to recruit more outstanding students. The delegation also took this opportunity to meet IFT graduates in order to enhance the communication and exchange between the Institute and alumni.
The Technical and Academic Support Division (SATA) - Alumni Affairs organised the Alumni Shunde Day Tour on August 12. The tour included Longan picking, lunched at private kitchen, visited Asia’s largest arch and tasted Shunde famous ‘Shuang Pinai’ and ginger milk curd. This activity is the first sightseeing activity organised by SATA and was supported by many alumni. There were total 35 alumni and their friends and relatives joined. Through the activity, we hope to enhance and strengthen the relationship between the institute and alumni and at the same time, provide a chance for alumni to gather.
The 2017 IFT Open Day was successfully held on 7 January, 2017. This year the Institute had invited 3 alums, Ms. Leona Cheang, Mr. Peta Ho and Mr. Wallace Ip coming back to IFT sharing their school life and working experience to our prospective students, Once again, thank you so much for all your time and contribution to the Institute activity. Without anyone of you, the activities would not be as succesful as it is.
