UTM ranks 10th in the world, 1st in Asia and 1st in Macao on the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for Hospitality and Leisure Management.

In 2000, IFTM (now UTM) was the first institution accredited by the UN Tourism.TedQual Certification System for tourism education.

In 2017, IFTM (now UTM) was the world’s first higher education institution to pass International Quality Accreditation (IQA) from the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).
